Ticket FAQ

Ticket exchanges are free, and must be made via the Overture Center box office via phone at 608-258-4141, or in person at 201 State St. We ask that you exchange your tickets no later than 24 hours prior to your original performance.

We strive to make our performances and the Playhouse accessible to all members of the community. Assistive Listening Devices (ALD) are available at the Playhouse coat check. Wheelchair and easy-access seating is available in the Playhouse.

We’re pleased to share that this will be our first time providing ASL Interpretation for every production of our season. ASL Interpretation is provided on the Third Saturday matinee of each performance run. Designated seating with an unobstructed view of the interpreters is available by calling the Overture Access line at 608-258-4452, or when you purchase single tickets online. To purchase an ASL Subscription Series, please reach out to Bri at bcollins@forwardtheater.com or 608-852-0824.

Please try to arrive at Overture up to 45 minutes prior to curtain. Parking time can significantly delay your arrival into the Playhouse, and productions start promptly at their scheduled time.

Don’t worry, you won’t miss the show! If staff is not in the lobby to greet you, an usher will assist you when you enter the Playhouse. They may instruct you to sit in a temporary location in the theater until there is an appropriate time to navigate to your seats. This is for your safety and the safety of the artists.

Forward Theater does not have a dress code! Patrons at our productions wear a wide variety of clothing, from casual to fancy. We want you to enjoy your experience – please feel welcome to wear whatever feels best for you.

Beverages purchased at the lobby bar are allowed in the Playhouse. However, food of any kind (even from the lobby bar) is not permitted inside the theater.

For the sake of EVERYONE’S enjoyment, please take a moment to silence or turn off your phone once you enter the Playhouse. Text notifications and ringtones are extremely distracting for patrons, but especially for the artists on stage.

No. Photos, videos, or audio recordings of any kind are strictly prohibited during the performance.

We want everyone to enjoy our performances, and reacting to what you see on stage is highly encouraged. Laugh, clap, hoot or holler – whatever way feels good to you.

However, we do ask that you respect the actors on stage and resist the urge to talk, text, or use electronic devices during the show.

The Overture Center box office is a great resource for questions related to your playgoing experience. You can reach them by phone at 608-258-4141.
