Orion Risk

Orion Risk is a director and PhD Candidate in Interdisciplinary Theatre Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Orion has directed for the monologue festival and Wisconsin Wrights, and assistant directed What the Constitution Means to Me.
In other work, Orion created TransTheatreFest–Madison, crafted the virtual play GenderTalks from conversations between trans and nonbinary people (Fringe PVD; Free Fringe Philly; Minnesota Fringe), and produced and directed with the Scene D Theatre Project in Iowa’s Cedar Valley.
Orion’s theatrical career started right out of high school with Lampost Theatre Company in Cedar Falls, Iowa; over seven years, he assistant directed original musicals, led acting workshops for high schoolers, and toured nationally. Originally from Indiana, Iowa, Florida, Tennessee, and Colorado, Orion now lives in Sun Prairie with their partner and a perfectly fluffy cat.
