A Forward Holiday Greeting
by Board Member Steve Suleski

‘Tis the Season! As we round out yet another year and find ourselves deep within the month of December, it seems a perfect time to pause and reflect upon all the good that springs from Forward Theater. And so, whether you are Going To St. Ives or St. Paul or St. Louis or just In The Next Room for the holidays, I hope you will consider, as I have been doing lately, The Love That Changed My Life – the love for Forward Theater and all who touch it. And whether you believe in Jesus or Mohammed or Budha or other Sons Of The Prophet; Or whether you just enjoy Santa (that Red-suited fellow) and Rudolph, Dasher and Dancer, Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid, Donner and Blitzen, and Vanya And Sonia And Masha And Spike, take a moment to consider the positive impact that the Forward family has upon your life. This is not All About Eve (or Adam, for that matter) but about the Good People of Forward Theater (who never need an explanation of Why Torture Is Wrong… they get it). They bring Moonlight And Magnolias to our lives. They feed us Soul Food and Love Stories and speak to us A Thousand Words steeped in meaning and delight. Their Collected Stories take us, for a moment, Out Of The Fire of our daily lives to The Other Place, a place of inspiration and purpose. From Up Here, where I live most of the time, I look forward to the next time I will be with my Forward friends enjoying another Forward experience. And it’s much better than staying at home, watching The Farnsworth Invention night after night. Or viewing another debate by candidates auditioning to play the lead role in the next scene of 44 Plays For 44 Presidents. And so, please join me in song to celebrate the latest Forward achievement by the amazing Forward family to the tune of Silent Night:

Silent Sky, Awesome Sky,
All did come, all did cry,
Round yon starscape, Henrietta
Solved the mystery, Henrietta
Sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace…

Best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season,
KIRITSIS (a/k/a Board Member Steve Suleski)
