CUNA Mutual Group has been a Forward Theater supporter since its inception in 2009. This season CUNA is one of the sponsors for our opening production of 44 Plays for 44 Presidents. Recently, we asked them to tell us a little bit about their business and why they support FTC.
1. What does your business do?
We provide insurance and financial services for credit unions and their members, worldwide.
2. How many employees do you have?
We have about 1,700 employees at our Madison office, and about 4,500 total staff nationwide. Our international division includes more than 670 employees in regional offices across the globe.
3. How long have you been involved with the Madison community?
We were founded in Madison in 1935 and it has served as a global headquarters ever since.
4. Why do you feel that it's important to support the performing arts in our area?
The arts are a big factor in our local quality of life, and we want to do what we can to make the greater Madison area a good place to live and work. Supporting the performing arts is one way to do that.
5. What drew you to Forward Theater?
Its solid, deliberate business plan coupled with high artistic standards and a very thoughtful style. We also love the fact that Forward Theater brings homegrown stage performances to downtown Madison, emphasizing local talent and thought-provoking plays.
6. Is there something you're particularly looking forward to this season, or an FTC moment from past seasons that you remember fondly?
Looking forward to all of Forward.
7. What would you tell potential audience members, donors, or sponsors about FTC?
Be prepared to enjoy this locally grown cultural asset. It's a perfect fit for Madison.

4. Why do you feel that it's important to support the performing arts in our area?
Arts and entertainment are a big part of residents' lives in our community. Performing arts feed our creative spirit and help support the kind of city we want to live in.
5. What drew you to Forward Theater?
Sense of humor! Forward Theater presents interesting, smart and often funny productions. And takes risks!
6. Is there something you're particularly looking forward to this season, or an FTC moment from past seasons that you remember fondly?
I loved the love monologues.
7. What would you tell potential audience members, donors, or sponsors about FTC?
Buy a ticket. Write FTC a check. You will be pleased.

1. What does your business do?
WORT 89.9 FM is a community radio station broadcasting music, news and public affairs programming on a 24/7 basis. WORT has been chosen 15 times as the “Favorite Local Radio Station” in the “Madison’s Favorites” Isthmus Reader’s Poll. (93% of our programming is produce in-house by volunteers!) Seven full-time employees are organized as a staff management collective. We also have three part-time employees.
3. How long have you been involved with the Madison community?
WORT has been broadcasting since December 1st, 1975.
4. Why do you feel that it's important to support the performing arts in our area?
The performing arts are a vital part of the community and contribute to the quality of life. Supporting the performing arts leads to a richer collective experience and helps members of the community to connect and engage with each other.
5. What drew you to Forward Theater?
There's nothing better than locally produced professional theater!
6. Is there something you're particularly looking forward to this season, or an FTC moment from past seasons that you remember fondly?
Living in Wisconsin where high quality, locally grown food is readily available and people feel passionate about their food, I'm looking forward to the Soul Food Monologue Festival.
7. What would you tell potential audience members, donors, or sponsors about FTC?
Based on our experience as a sponsor last season, I can tell you that it was a great pleasure to work with FTC and that we appreciate their assistance in promoting our organization.
